What principals and choreographers ask first

When should we book costumes for our recital?

Twelve weeks out is comfortable, eight weeks is tight but workable, anything inside four weeks comes down to stock availability. Send us your show date as soon as you’ve confirmed your venue.

Do you include shoes and accessories?

Accessories like hats, gloves, capes, props and stage jewellery are included where the look needs them. Dance shoes — character, jazz, tap, soft ballet — can be added per dancer at cost, but most schools prefer dancers wear their own.

How do you handle dancers who grow between fitting and recital?

A quick refit week of show is the safety net — we hold sizes either side per dancer. For junior groups we build in extra adjust-room from the start. No school has ever had a dancer left without a costume.

Can we hire for a single routine or competition piece?

Yes — festival groups, regionals and single competition pieces are all fine. Shorter rentals are priced accordingly. We can hold the costume between heats and the final if you let us know dates.

What happens if a costume tears mid-recital?

All hires include a small repair kit — safety pins, spare elastics, double-sided tape, basic thread — for backstage fixes. Genuine damage is rare and usually within normal wear-and-tear which is on us.
